You must get sick of me saying this in the mornings when it’s rains….but please, please can you slow it down this morning.
It’s been raining since soon after midnight…quite heavy at times.
The roads are treacherous.
We’ve got motorists slipping and sliding around all over town.
People just don’t seem to understand that your vehicle is a weapon. It can, in the blink of an eye take life.
People die on suburban roads.
And it can happen in an instant.
Expect the unexpected and stay out of trouble this morning.
I spent a lot of time on highway roads on the weekend.
Went for a drive up to Bathurst and back.
Great to get on out there for a good highway drive, but I was mindful all the time of the potential for tragedy.
We went so close to a monumental tragedy out Tumut way on the weekend.
Two people are in a critical condition in Canberra Hospital, and nine others were injured in this two car prang on Sunday afternoon.
This happened around 4.15pm out on Brungle Road at Tumut.
The way it’s been described to me, a Holden Captiva with six people on board and a Mitsubishi Triton with five people smashed head-on.
Someone has ended up on the wrong side of the road for some reason.
According to the Canberra Times, a 76-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man suffered serious injuries and have been airlifted to Canberra Hospital, where they remained in a critical condition at 1.45pm Monday.
Please slow down out there on these wet roads.
