Does anybody care that the Prime Minister’s wine cellar looks as though it was stocked at Aldi ?

I know I certainly don’t.

Not sure what all the fuss was about in the Canberra Times this morning.  The average bottle of wine in the Prime Ministerial collection is worth just $25…shock horror !

And ?

Consumption of wine is a part of what we do in Australia, but I don’t think it’s necessary for the Prime Minister and his associates to be gargling red wine from the top shelf.

John Leyshon is quoted in the Canberra Times story. He’s the President of the Canberra District Wine Industry Association. He says the collection is ‘embarrassing !’

I’m not embarrassed.

This Prime Minister has been widely painted as a North Shore rich boy.  I think it’s wonderfully ironic that the wine list doesn’t live up to that hype.

In this case, it seems the Prime Minister is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t.
