I want to know what the hell is going on in our suburbs.

In the space of 3 weeks we’ve had three deaths at the hands of others.

3 people have been violently murdered in what should have been the safety of their own home.gordon

What the hell is going on out there.

There are still a lot of gaps in this latest story. There’s a lot of stuff that we don’t know and it’s probably not a sensible thing to jump to too many conclusions, but  this has all the hallmarks of another domestic violence story doesn’t it ? Time will tell.

The drug ice has played a role in at least two of these killings. This drug is a much bigger problem in this town than many people believe. Should Ice be a focus of our response to all of this ?

I don’t know.

You almost feel as though the entire nation should be forced to attend anger management classes.

How do you contain that rage ? How do you stop people from hurting the people close to them. This is a massive challenge and we all have to face it.

There are many things we don’t know about the Gordon killing. We know that police were called to the townhouse at 3.10am yesterday morning. Who made the call ? Don’t know.

When the coppers arrived they were confronted with an horrific scene. They discovered the victim in a bedroom with head injuries and stab wounds. She was dead. There was no one else in the house.

We know that the police are talking to man, but we don’t know who…and we don’t know what relationship he had with the victim. The police have said that “At this stage he is not a suspect, he is just assisting police.”

The deceased woman is a mum. She’s got 2 kids. This was a public housing townhouse and I gather that that the dead woman moved in with her partner and the kids in the last 12 months. Neighbours suggested yesterday that they’d heard arguments in the house previously.

One of those arguments was so loud several weeks ago that it inspired a neighbour to call police.

A woman’s life has been cut short way too young.

This is so sad. We’ve got two more children who will grow up without a mother.

What’s going on out there in the suburbs ?
