How are the preparations for Christmas going for you ?
Do you think the Christmas focus is far too commercial ?
Should we be focusing much more on the spiritual meaning of Christmas ? And when I say the spiritual meaning, I don’t think it matters whether you’re a christian. I don’t think it matter whether you’re religious at all.
Yeah, I know it’s in theory about birth of christ and the barn in Bethlehem and the wise men and all that…..but I think Christmas in Australia is actually above religion.
I think Christmas is just about goodwill.
I think it’s about getting to the end of the year and having the grace to forgive the mongrels around you….and to express thanks and gratitude to the good people. Does that sound a bit wishy washy ? Do we focus too much on the whole present buying thing ?
I’m going home for Christmas this year for the first time in like 25 years.
Can’t wait to give my Mum a big hug. It’s been at least a year.
Always good to get back to the home town. I spent the first 17 years of my life in the town of York in Western Australia and it’s always good to get back there. Always great to wander down Avon Terrace, to stroll down by the river and take in the rolling hills. When you go back to your home town, you could be blindfolded, but you’d still know it as your home town. You can smell my home town when you walk around in it and it’s a wonderful smell.
After this morning….9 breakfast shifts to go for this morning
What are you doing for Christmas ? Let me know.
